Remarkable Incident of Dr Lanyon
A little about ourselves
The police can no longer find Hyde and coincidentally Jekyll soon starts to socialize once again and is much happier than he was when Hyde was around. The book says "Now that the evil influence had been withdrawn, a new life began for Dr. Jekyll." He starts a new life and also invites Utterson and Lanyon to his dinner parties. The happiness doesnt last too long when trouble with Jekyll occurs.
Depression
Utterson goes to see Jekyll but does not want to see him and therefore he resorts to Lanyon. Utterson is shocked to what he discovers and sees an old bald version of Lanyon lying on his death bed. He was described as "He had his death-warrent written legibly upon his face." This leads to Lanyon believing he will die soon and says "if we all knew, we should be more glad to get away." This contrasts to former Lanyon where he was articulate whereas now he is more crippled and vague. Lanyon dies and leaves an envelope for Utterson which is not to be opened until the death of Jekyll.
